Episodes: Season Overview
More Detail:
“The Visit” starts with Saul’s continued persecution of the Christians, and then follows Phillip as he is called to the town of Samaria. In Samaria, Phillip runs into a man called Simon the Sorcerer, through his ministry, people are healed and are baptized, including Simon who desires the power that Phillip has and has not received the Holy Spirit. Back in Jerusalem, Caiaphas and Pilate are surprised by a visit from Roman Emperor Tiberius and his nefarious nephew, Caligula.
The problem with the drama surrounding Caiaphas and Pilate is that it mostly revolves around them discussing what to do about the followers of Jesus. The lack of action and conflict in these moments is dull in this episode. The scenes with Simon are also a little hokey at the beginning. There are some light sexual moments that require caution in “The Visit.”
