More Detail:

AD: THE BIBLE CONTINUES Episode 2 begins with the empty tomb of Jesus being discovered and the disciples trying to grapple what this means, while the Roman and Jewish leaders try to quash any movement that comes from it.

Episode 2 of A.D.: THE BIBLE CONTINUES is powerful, setting up even more drama as the series begins to enter the book of Acts. Though certain verses from scripture are glossed over, much of the scripture is kept intact, though some of the drama between the Romans and the Jewish leaders is dramatized speculation, though entirely likely. Fantastic set design and exciting music bring it home and makes A.D. entertaining and inspiring television. Everything about this program reflects scriptural authenticity. The filmmakers have done a tremendous job of marrying the history of the Bible with a powerful dramatic story. Some of the casting decisions are very unique and raise questions, including several African or African American characters, who play John and some of the other key figures in the story. Episode 2 becomes more violent and may not be appropriate for all ages.
