BARNEY’S WORLD is an animated series streaming on HBO Max. The show is based on the previous series, BARNEY & THE BACKYARD GANG and follows Barney, the famous purple dinosaur, and his adventures with three friends, David, Mel, and Vivie, who play at the park together. Each episode has an eleven-minute runtime.
The first six episodes follow a similar pattern: David, Mel, and Vivie play in the park and invite Barney to join them on their adventures. The episodes include a singalong and a moral lesson that one of the three friends learns.
BARNEY’S WORLD has two central themes throughout the first two episodes. The first lies in the intro theme song, which states children should love themselves and others. The second central theme is teaching children to be open about their feelings and the importance of making space to listen.
