THE BALLAD OF RAMBLIN' JACK is a humorous and intriguing peek into the life of Ramblin' Jack Elliot, one of the key men who inspired the folk music craze of the 60s. Written by his daughter Aiyana, who traveled with Jack during his days on the road, this documentary primarily is a collection of home videos, clips, and pictures of and interviews with Ramblin' Jack, his family, friends, and his mentor Woodie Guthrie, as well as his protege, Bob Dylan. Along with telling the story of her father, Aiyana captures on tape the struggles she encounters while attempting to connect with her father.

Ramblin' Jack's story is full of struggles and triumphs. It is a touching story seen through the eyes of a person who admires him and longs for his love and happiness. Although he encountered many hardships, including going through four marriages, Jack Elliot never mentions God or prayer, something from which he could have benefited greatly.
