What You Need To Know:

In THE RIP, streaming on Netflix, Miami PD’s Tactical Narcotics Team, or TNT, is reeling after the murder of one of their members and facing questions from suspicious FBI agents, who think one of them had something to do with it. When they’re called out on a routine drug bust, TNT are shocked to find much more than they bargained, and tensions mount as the team members begin to suspect each other of being dirty.

THE RIP is a really enjoyable mystery, full of twists and turns that will keep viewers guessing until the very end. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are excellent, leading an equally remarkable cast that includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, and Sasha Calle. Overall, THE RIP has a moral worldview, emphasizing doing the right thing and showing mercy, but it has an extremely excessive amount of strong foul language, strong violence, and mixed Christian, occult content where people believing their dead friend in Heaven helped them. However, the movie contains an overwhelming amount of foul language and violent scenes. MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution to all viewers.

Light moral worldview mixed with light Christian, redemptive aspects, with characters working to do the right thing and showing mercy (one character doesn’t kill someone who had a hand in the death of a friend and arrests him instead), but the positive elements are marred by abundant, excessive and very strong foul language and some mixed Christian, occult content where characters speak about a deceased friend’s influence from Heaven (one character says their friend helped them succeed from “the beyond”);

THE RIP is an action thriller on Netflix. The movie’s about a specialized unit of drug detectives called to investigate what should be a routine bust. However, the team begins to turn on each other as they realize the bust is more than they bargained, and that one of them might be dirty.

Miami’s Tactical Narcotics Team, or TNT, is still reeling from the loss of one of their own, Det. Jackie Velez, as they face questions from the FBI about whether or not they had anything to do with her murder. There are rumors that crooked cops have been stealing money from drug cartel houses, and Miami’s TNT unit is under suspicion.

Amid the FBI investigation, the TNT team is called to investigate a tip about a house that might contain illegal money, called “a rip.” Once they get there, the team discovers that far more money is at stake than they were led to believe.

The team members start turning on each other, questioning why the rip hasn’t been reported to their superior officers and accusing one another of trying to steal the money. As tensions rise and secrets come to light, the TNT members must fight to survive the night and figure out which one of them is dirty.

THE RIP is a very enjoyable mystery thriller, with lots of action. The movie’s full of twists and turns that will keep viewers guessing until the very end. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, long-time Hollywood partners, have great chemistry together. Supporting cast members Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor and Sasha Calle help dial up the drama and excitement.

THE RIP has a moral worldview that stresses the importance of doing the right thing and showing mercy. It also has some light Christian elements as well, as characters frequently discuss their deceased team member in Heaven. However, they believe she’s sending them signs from Heaven. So, the Christian elements are mixed with some occult ideas. Also, THE RIP has an overwhelming, extremely excessive amount of strong foul language. There’s also a reference to marijuana. The foul language in THE RIP is just far too excessive for MOVIEGUIDE® to give the movie an acceptable rating.
