PARENT TRAP’s Lindsay Lohan will return to acting in a Netflix Christmas romantic comedy to be produced by WHEN CALLS THE HEART producer Brad Krevoy.

According to Variety:

In this new movie, Lohan will play a “newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress” (according to the logline), who gets amnesia after a skiing accident and “finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.” The rest of the cast has not yet been announced.

Krevoy, who also produced the Netflix Christmas movies THE PRINCESS SWITCH and THE PRINCESS SWITCH: SWITCHED AGAIN, recently announced a project with Sadie Robertson Huff to bring her book to the small screen as a scripted television series.

“There are 350 million people in our country and there is a desire for great family programming,” Krevoy said of wholesome entertainment while attending the Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry.

“The MOVIEGUIDE® Awards have significantly influenced my production decisions,” Krevoy said. ” …I have focused my production and distribution activities to satisfy the audience group that the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards represent. As a result, my movies and television projects have all earned a solid profit and have been accepted by the widest possible audience.”

Movieguide® also selected Lohan’s first major movie, THE PARENT TRAP, as one of the Best Movies for Families in 1998.

Though the actress walked away from family-friendly programming, let’s hope her upcoming Netflix movie is a return to the morality of her earlier movies.
