Anne Wilson Reminds Fans God Is Working in Seasons of Waiting
By Movieguide® Contributor
Grammy-nominated singer Anne Wilson shared a heartfelt encouragement to those people in a season of waiting.
“Hurt leads to healing. Loneliness moves us to intimacy. Sadness expresses value and honor and gladness proves hope of the heart to be true,” Wilson said in a video posted by Hey Girl Nation. “I love that reminder. It’s sometimes so hard in the world that we live in today to be okay, to feel the emotions that we’re going through, but I love the sweetness and the reminder in this, that when we do feel those emotions, it leads to healing, intimacy, peace. It leads to longings being fulfilled.
“A verse that always sticks out to me that someone very close to me has always spoken over my life is a verse in the Bible that says this, ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is the tree of life,'” Wilson continued.
“So, whatever you’re waiting on today, whatever longing that you’re waiting to be fulfilled know that when in time it is fulfilled it will be like a tree of life that produces fruit and goodness,” she concluded.
Wilson often shares about her faith on her social media account, but recently she spoke out about the assassination attempt on former President Trump’s life.
“I never speak on political topics because I feel it’s not my place,” she began to write. “I have my platform to focus on the hope of Jesus and leading others to HIM through music. However, sometimes there are moments that call for speaking out. The tragedy that took place this weekend was one of those moments.
“When I heard of what happened to @realdonaldtrump I was shocked, heartbroken, disturbed, and angry,” Wilson added. “I immediately felt hopeless thinking about what this world has come to. This is the first attempted assassination of a president in my generation; the last one was in the 80’s.”
The singer encouraged her followers to seek God and to pray.
She said, “What happened this weekend was despicable. It is pure evil. No president should ever be in that situation. My pastor said it best in yesterday’s sermon, ‘politics are secondary to our relationship with God. No matter what your political beliefs are, as Christians we are called to pray in situations like this.'”
She announced that she’s working on new music that expresses her desire to stand up for what she believes in.
“I was raised to stand up for what I believe in. My God, my country, and what is right and true. Now more than ever I feel a stirring in my heart to have the courage to not be quiet or worried about following the crowd,” she posted along with a clip of a new song. “I’ve been working on a song about standing up for what I believe in and in light of the events that took place last week with @realdonaldtrump I want to share what I’ve got so far with you.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Wilson:
Anne Wilson reminded her fans that true strength comes from the Lord and we can rely on Him to sustain us even when we feel weak.
“‘That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties,’” Wilson wrote on Instagram. “For when I am weak, then I am strong’ (2 Corinthians 12:10). ?”
Wilson has long encouraged her fans to set their eyes on Christ. Though she is a country musician, all of her work centers on the Gospel, and her faith often makes its way into her songs.
Without compromising her faith or her country heart, Wilson has risen to become one of music’s most popular stars with her Grammy-nominated debut album, “My Jesus,” recently topping one billion streams. Her commitment to who she is has helped her stand out and garner a large audience.
