As the world grapples with the tragedies of last week, Chris Pratt took to Instagram to encourage his followers to join him in prayer.
“Lord, you say ‘Be still and know that I am God,’ Psalm 46:10,” the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actor began. “In this moment, please Lord, calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart. Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace.”
Pratt mentioned Isaiah 26:3 which says, “You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on you.’ Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward you that I find rest and joy in your presence. Amen.”
After his prayer, the actor encouraged viewers to get off of social media and spend time doing something better.
“Okay, now you can continue strolling — or you can turn your phone off and go outside. Might I suggest the latter? Go get some sunshine. Go look at a tree, touch some grass, call a friend. [If] you’ve got time to be on your phone right now, you’ve got time to do your to-do list, and you’ve got time to reach out to somebody in the share this.”
People in the comment appreciated Pratt’s prayer.

Christian singer Lauren Daigle wrote, “Prayer is a miracle. Something so simple but so powerful!!
“Thanks for always being a shining example of how to be a good human being Chris,” another person said. Another fan added, “Opening Instagram and seeing this as my first post today is beautiful. Putting the phone down and going back to full dad mode!”
Following the news of Charlie Kirk’s shooting on Sept. 10, Pratt shared his prayers for the Turning Point USA founder.
“Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us,” he said on X.
“In a sea of gutless celebs blindly following their tribe, you Sir are to be congratulated for swimming against the tide. 👏” one user said in response.

Another person commented, “You’re a good man, Chris.”
Kirk’s death was announced soon after by President Donald Trump, and many celebrities and politicians are urging others to pray for the Kirk family during this difficult time.
“We love you, Charlie. Well done, good and faithful servant,” actress Candace Cameron Bure posted.
Actor Russell Brand said, “…Dear God please comfort his family. This may be the Turning Point he dedicated his short life to. RIP ‘Right-Wing Rainman’.”
Roseanne Bar said on X, “Ignore the demons. Especially online. They want you angry and traumatized. Band together in love for Charlie.”
Though the world is filled with darkness, celebrities like Pratt remind us that turning to God in prayer is the best thing we can do.
