HGTV’s Jenny Marrs was reminded of some scripture as she reflected on a recent moment with one of her family’s horses.
“Minnie came to us scared and skittish,” she wrote on Instagram under a video of the horse. “She didn’t trust us or the other animals in the pasture. Her first herd had only taught her that she wasn’t worthy of love.”
Marrs continued, “Day after day after day, we have been in the pasture offering soothing words, yummy treats, and gentle movements. She is beginning to trust.”
“This evening, as I watched my girl do the thing she’s done countless times before, I was reminded of 1 Corinthians 13. Love is patient, Love is kind, indeed,” she concluded. “These ancient, wise words feel especially poignant today.”

Marrs then shared 1 Corinthians 13:5-7 — “Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always ‘me first,’ Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.”
Marrs has been keeping fans updated on the many projects she currently has in the works, from the release of a new book to the latest season of FIXER TO FABULOUS.
“I have walked through dark valleys, clinging to God’s hand, I have spent long nights tossing and turning, fear threatening to overwhelm and, yet, He has been ever faithful,” she posted on Instagram of her latest book, Trust God, Love People.
Marrs continued, “And, in turn, I can choose to pour out the abundant covering of love I have walked under to the people in my path. I can love the ones around my kitchen table or the ones across the sea. Every person He has brought into my life has impacted me, and, I can impact them.”
“In three weeks, this book will launch out into the world,” she concluded. “I don’t believe the launch date is random. I believe the world needs this message more than ever. My prayer is that these stories will encourage every reader to look at God’s faithfulness in their own life in order to trust Him more fully, and, most importantly, that they will be inspired to pour out extravagant love on the people in their life. No prerequisites, just kindness born out of love.”
Marrs also let fans know she and husband Dave are “still hard at work on season 7!” posting “another reveal” video on Instagram.
Marrs’ post is an example of how we can see the ways scripture works in our lives every day.
