THE CHOSEN actor Giavani Cairo explained how the show transformed his fiancee’s heart and was the entire reason they ended up meeting in the first place.
“So, she actually was going through a tough time in her life and her mom showed her the show,” Cairo told Movieguide®. “This is before we even knew each other, and it really spoke to her in such a way that it changed the way she looked on life and changed the way she lives her life from a faith element. And, she is also a journalist, a very excellent journalist, and she reached out to production and did an interview with Dallas [Jenkins].”
“I ended up seeing that interview, and we started talking from there, and it kind of just went from there, you know. A couple years go by, and now we’re engaged and just could not be happier,” he continued. “It’s just crazy how God works in that way to create that full circle moment.”

Cairo is not the only actor on THE CHOSEN to have their life completely changed by being part of the show. Elizabeth Tabish, who plays Mary Magdalene, revealed the show shifted her entire worldview, going from a skeptic to a strong believer.
“I try to be very rational about things,” she started. “It’s been really hard to ignore that there’s something really special about this experience for me. I feel like I wasn’t able to — I wouldn’t have been able to connect with the Lilith portion of [Mary Magdalene] had I not gone through some painful things.
“Because of that, I’m realizing…God has been there the whole time,” Tabish continued. “There are these moments in the show where I’m actually saying that: ‘In the depths, in the heights, You are there.’ So there’s been these really sweet, sort of idiosyncratic things for me personally throughout this show that are constant reminders that God’s love is real. It’s a real thing and I’ve been slowly opening up to it.”
Having gone through painful parts of her life, Tabish has made it her goal to work on projects that speak to the reality of this pain, while also providing viewers with the hope that comes through Christ.
“The reality is it gets harder, because you’re still living in this world and you’re clinging to values and believing in values that are unseeable,” she said.
“It’s this intangible thing that you know in your heart and to act those things out is difficult when, yes, the entire world is like, ‘Do the easy thing, do the cheap thing, do the thing that gives you a shortcut to what is perceived as maybe the good life,’ but it’s devoid of joy sometimes, because it’s also devoid of the struggle. I think the struggle is what makes us who we are,” Tabish added.
While THE CHOSEN has offered its cast and crew an incredible opportunity for their careers, it is amazing to see how it has also led to wonderful changes in other areas of their life as well.
