Christian artist Lauren Daigle shared an important message for the church, telling people to put their focus on “the things that actually matter.”

“I would tell the church, get ready, get prepared, and start paying attention to the things that actually matter,” she told ChurchLeaders.

Daigle asked, “At the end of your life…are you going to be able to say, ‘Yes, Lord, I served You with all of my heart’ and hear the ‘Well done?’ If that’s what you’re living for, you’ll be fine. If not, get it sorted out.”

The artist also spoke about her latest single, “Let It Be A Hallelujah.”

“I wrote it from the bottom of my heart,” Daigle shared. “The message of it is what I love so much. It’s the message of just knowing you can endure if you praise through any circumstance that is difficult…especially in this time of life.”

She continued, “I truly believe that praise is the thing that shifts the atmosphere, that breaks people free from…anything they’re facing. God is so faithful to come and meet with you when you worship and when you praise.”

In a statement about “Let It Be A Hallelujah,” Daigle shared, “This song is a reminder to let praise be our response, no matter the circumstances. I’m thrilled to share it with the world and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Daigle recalled the writing process for the single in a recent Instagram post, explaining that it came up “in the writing cycle between ‘How Can It Be’ and ‘Look Up Child’…landing in the land of Dropbox and never making its way to my record.”

“Fast forward years and years later, I truly believe that God had an incredible design filled with intention behind why this song wasn’t brought forth into the world in the season in which we wrote it,” she continued. “This song was savored and salvaged for a time when my life needed to intersect with it. It compels me to believe that from any place high or low, triumphant or troublesome, praise can live on our lips and in our spirit. I think Paul taught us the extravagant resilience of being content in all things. This song is the reminder of this truth.”

Daigle’s message of the power of praise is a reminder to put our focus on God above all other things.
