Demi-Leigh Tebow shared the sad news of her father’s passing on October 21, but the tragic news came with joy as she and her husband, Tim, shared their peace knowing he is now in heaven.
“It’s with a heavy yet deeply grateful heart that I share my sweet dad went to be with Jesus last Thursday,” Demi-Leigh wrote on Instagram. “Two years ago, we got the call that changed everything – Pappa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The last two years have been incredibly tough, yet through it all, he never lost his humor, kindness, compassion , or his deep love for Jesus and for our family.”
“You once told me after we lost Franje, that we can spend our lives questioning God or trusting Him. Thank you for choosing trust – and for showing me what real faith looks like,” she continued. “The angels are in for a treat, because the man with the best dad jokes, the biggest heart, and the funniest pranks has arrived.”

Tim shared a similar sentiment, praising his father-in-law for the joy he brought wherever he went.
“Papa Bennie, you were the best father-in-law. The braai-master. The dad-joke king. A dog lover. A champion of @demitebow and our family. A fighter till the end,” Tim wrote in his own tribute. “I loved being around you! You brought joy and laughter into every room! Your smile was contagious and your words were kind… I agree with Demi, Heaven is in for a treat… the man with the best jokes has arrived!”
While the news is incredibly sad, it is incredible that in the two years since Demi-Leigh’s father was diagnosed with cancer, not only has he seen Tim and Demi-Leigh change the world through their heart for serving the most vulnerable people in the world, but he also had a chance to meet his first granddaughter, Daphne Reign Tebow.
Daphne was born in July and has since become the center of the world for both Tim and Demi-Leigh, teaching them so much about the Lord along the way.
“Two whole months of hitting and celebrating so many little milestones week by week,” Demi-Leigh wrote at the beginning of September. “Thank you for showing me how special the little moments in life should be. First smiles, cooing conversations and kicks to recognizing voices and faces. It’s been so sweet to experience and value life all over again through your eyes.”
Praise the Lord for the life Demi-Leigh’s father lived. Please keep the Tebows in your prayers as they continue to process this loss while celebrating the life that he lived.
