Candace Cameron Bure’s new devotional book, Rise and Renew: A 30-Day Devotional to Heal a Hurting Heart, Overcome Emotional Pain, and Grow in Your Faith, will “give hope to all of us.”

“Things felt a little desperate. Life took a turn, and I think a lot of us felt very uneasy. And I needed to remind myself that I need to focus on what’s true and right,” she told Women’s World, explaining how the COVID-19 pandemic inspired the book.

“So I wrote this book based on that, just to give hope to all of us, because life doesn’t always go the way you are expecting,” she added. “Life really is like a roller coaster. There’s lots of ups and downs throughout and I think to rise up and renew our minds each day is very important.”

This devotional book differs from her previous books because “there are many Scriptures that refer to whatever point I’m talking about.”

“If you want to have renewed peace in your life, a renewed strength in your life, a renewed joy, there are at least five Scriptures that will point to that. And there’s always a personal reflection from me, and then there’s a call to action,” she said. “I think having an activity in the book is important because it gives us that point of action that can really change our day.”

Bure recently went to New York City to share the ins and outs of her new book.

“New York, you’ve been electric!⚡Thank you for the warmth and excitement around Rise and Renew and Another Sweet Christmas.❤️ It’s such a blessing to be 49 and still wake up excited to do what I love every single day. So to kick this trip off on 49th Street? I just knew this trip was going to be a special one,” the FULL HOUSE star wrote in a post on Instagram.

Throughout the book, there are 30 entries, which will each include:

  • A Scripture passage for every day that addresses what it means to live a life made new
  • Stories of personal experiences and real-life moments when Candace leaned on Jesus for help, hope, and healing, to remind you that God wants to help and heal you, too
  • Insightful questions to ask yourself about where you are, how you’re feeling, and who you are becoming
  • Interactive activities and exercises, such as filling in a list or adding to a chart—all ways to help you find a fresh, new perspective on the topic at hand

Bure knows what it’s like to lose hope when things in life go sideways. Her new devotional will help readers stay grounded in God even in times of chaos and uncertainty.
