The Savannah Bananas just played in front of their biggest crowd yet, and outfielder Coach RAC said a heartfelt prayer over all their fans.
“Well, the stadium is filling up for the largest game in banana ball history,” Coach RAC, whose real name is RobertAnthony Cruz, said in a video on Instagram.
He prayed over the stadium: “God, thank you for the families finding their seats. I pray that you would strengthen their bond. Tonight would be a night to appreciate the many blessings that they have from you. I pray that the people walking in who feel lost and alone, that they might find community and that they might experience for themselves the soul-satisfying peace that only comes through knowing in Jesus Christ.”

The game saw 102,000 fans fill the Kyle Field stadium.
Cruz then thanked God for the Sandlot Revival worship night that was held the night before at Central Church in College Station, Texas.
“Lord, thank you so much for last night and the worship night that my teammates and I hosted. There was a moment where we were praying over people at the end, and I was surrounded by like 50 kids, and I got a chance to pray over them and then kneel before the stage and sing the last worship song with them, and it was one of the most beautiful things that I have ever experienced,” Coach RAC prayed. “God, thank you that you’ve given me a platform to be able to speak into the lives of the next generation. I pray that I would just have a positive impact, and then my teammates would do the same, Lord.”
“I pray that we would be good ambassadors for Christ, that we would be salt and light in a dark world,” he concluded. “God, thank you for the opportunity to maybe be a role model and to point to something that’s so much greater than ourselves. God, you alone are worthy of our praise. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Let’s play ball.”
Cruz often encourages his followers in their faith.
“Wholeheartedly pursue your dreams and work hard, God has gifted each one of you in a specific way,” said Cruz last month. “Each of you have a calling over your life.”
In another Instagram post, he encouraged his fans to keep life in perspective.
“There’s no amount of fame or money or success that can fulfill your soul, and that is something that my teammates and I have experienced firsthand,” Coach RAC emphasized.
We pray that the Bananas continue to make an impact for Christ on and off the field.
