Authorities are still searching for TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother, who was kidnapped earlier this week.

“We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,” Arizona’s Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News. “She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her.”

He added that the FBI are currently investigating “hundreds of leads” that “are critical to us.”

Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, was reported missing on February 1 after a friend noticed she did not attend church that day. After going to her home to check on her, family members called 911.

“We get these calls quite often, and we do a good job of searching the area,” Nanos said, via PEOPLE. “But, this one stood out because of what was described to us at the scene and what we found and located just in looking at the scene.”

Authorities have not released many details about the investigation, but in a video posted to social media, Guthrie and her siblings acknowledged the existence of ransom letters that have been sent to several media outlets.

“We are doing everything we can,” she said. “However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”

Guthrie then addressed her mother, saying, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman, you are God’s precious daughter Nancy.”

Police also clarified that they currently have not identified any suspects, despite rumors that Guthrie’s brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni had been named a person of interest in the investigation.

“Detectives are working closely with the Guthrie family. While we appreciate the public’s concern, the sharing of unverified accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not assist the investigation,” a statement from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department reads. “No suspect or person of interest has been identified at this time.”

Guthrie, who has taken a leave of absence from the TODAY show, asked the public for their prayers in an Instagram post earlier this week.

“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” Guthrie wrote. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”

Continue to pray for Nancy’s safe return and for her family during this incredibly difficult time.
