BRADY BUNCH Star Christopher Knight Praises Show’s Family Values

BRADY BUNCH star Christopher Knight revealed to FOX News Digital how the sitcom’s commitment to family values impacted his life and its viewers.
At the end of the day, “all kids need that validation and a warm, safe place,” Knight, who played Peter Brady, said. “As a child, there was a lot of love and respect and validation that was quite important and would have been missing had I not done the show. But I believe that, now watching the show, I’m seeing the reason for why it works.”
“Not all have it. Some escape with the Bradys to give them that feeling, others join us because it reminds them of a safer time in their childhood because they did have a family similar to the Brady’s or aspired to be something, something that was reflective of the Bradys, and we need more of it,” he added.
“We need more of it in our adult lives,” Knight confessed. “The kind of mutual respect and understanding and willingness to cooperate that is shown on the show is something that we could all use more of in our lives, and our lives would be better as a result. It’s all a matter of just the willingness.”
THE BRADY BUNCH cast members remain close friends to this day because of the family-like environment created on the show.
“We’re like a family who live in different states and get together around the holidays,” Knight told PEOPLE.
“I think it’s become very obvious recently – in light of the times we’re living through, difficult times where people don’t want to understand or trust one another. And we are all friends because we all met on this simple, sweet, kids show about family. About a family that we can all aspire to be more like because they all showed cooperation and understanding,” he said.
Lloyd Schwartz, the show’s producer, said, “We’re very close. I see them about three, four times a year…And I still feel like I’m an uncle to them. And whenever we get together, we fall back immediately into that understanding we had that led to this journey. They’re family. I go to their weddings. I’ve met all of their husbands and wives. The show has bonded us. We’re family.”

Knight explained that his real-life family was nothing like the Bradys.
