Dave Coulier Knew FULL HOUSE Would Succeed When…

Dave Coulier recently shared that he had his doubts about FULL HOUSE’s success — until, that is, he saw co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure at work.
During ’90s Con Florida, Coulier said the show’s cast “didn’t know which direction the show was going to go” when they first began production, or “if we were going to be a hit.”
“And when I saw Jodie and Candace and how funny they were, I thought, we’re good,” he said. “These kids are really funny.”
Coulier added, “When I saw these two and how good they were, I thought, we’re good. We’re going to be on cruise control if we could just keep doing this. It was really exciting and wonderful.”
The actor also spoke about the impact FULL HOUSE has had on its fans, many of whom have told Coulier the show’s cast was their “family every Friday night.”
“When you hear that enough times you start to realize you had a positive impact on a lot of kids,” he said. “I think collectively, all of us are really proud of that. For me personally I think that would be the one thing that resonates with me is ‘Wow, we really did something great for the kids.’”

Coulier announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
He joked to TODAY, “I’ve tried to retain a sense of reality but also a sense of humor about it.”

Coulier shared that he has undergone one round of chemotherapy so far, and has a positive outlook, as a test showed the cancer had not spread to his bone marrow.
“At that point the curability rate went up to 90 plus percent, so it’s very treatable,” he explained, per CNN.
