What do Gwen Stefani and Dolly Parton have in common? Blake Shelton’s got an answer.

“I’ve learned so much from [Stefani], and she’s really the person that’s helped me get in touch with my faith and get serious about it and not just something that you say at an awards show, you know?” Shelton said of his wife during an interview on Apple’s TODAY’S COUNTRY RADIO show.

Shelton continued, “She reminds me to think about it all day long. When you’re around her, everything she sees, she sees God in it. Her faith is alive, and it’s incredible to be around her. She’s so happy about it, and she loves to share it to anybody that’s listening.”

The country singer compared Stefani to Parton, saying they have a similar “light” when it comes to their faith.

Both Stefani and Parton have spoken publicly about the role faith plays in their lives.

“I fell away from my faith,” Stefani said in a video for Hallow. “And then came a time in my life where I felt like I was losing everything. My emotional and mental stress from my situation quickly turned into physical pain, like a physical illness. Chronic pain that prevented me from doing daily ordinary things. And I was so scared.”

She continued, “Feeling so desperate, I got on my knees, I asked God: ‘Please, please get me well. Please use my gift of music again. Please let me be the person I used to be.’”

Stefani said she immediately felt God’s presence and began praying daily.

“A lot of amazing changes in my life have happened since then and my faith has carried me through it all,” she concluded.

Parton has also shared her faith, telling Marie Claire, “Every single day, before I do anything, I wake up and I thank God for the night and ask Him to bless the day…and bring all the right stuff in. And just to guide me, lead me. And I always pray that He’ll let me uplift mankind and glorify Him.”

In another interview with Fox News, the country icon said, “My faith impacts everything that I do because I do believe that, through God, all things are possible. And so I always ask God to bless everything that I do and the people that I work with and to bring all the right things and right people into my life and to take the wrong ones out.”

Stefani and Parton are just two of the many Christians in the music industry who are boldly proclaiming their faith.
