By Movieguide® Contributor
Hallmark has unveiled its upcoming Christmas programming, from 47 new original movies to new TV shows.
“STOP. EVERYTHING,” Hallmark posted on Instagram. “We’re bringing joy to your world because your first look at our all new #CountdowntoChristmas movies line-up is here!”
The channel’s Countdown to Christmas kicks off October 18, with ‘TWAS THE DATE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, starring Robert Buckley and Amy Groening.
The 2024 holiday lineup features many recognizable stars, like Daniella Monet (HOLIDAY CRASHERS), Tamera Mowry-Housley (SCOUTING FOR CHRISTMAS), Jordan Fisher (THE 5-YEAR CHRISTMAS PARTY) and Erin Krakow (SANTA TELL ME).
Hallmark is also launching two new movie series, including UNWRAPPING CHRISTMAS, “a “four-movie franchise following the holiday romances of Tina (Natalie Hall), Mia (Kathryn Davis), Lily (Ashley Newbrough) and Oliva (Cindy Busby) — all friends who work together at a store named All Wrapped Up,” according to Heavy.com.
The second series sees the stars of 2023’s CHRISTMAS ON CHERRY LANE reunite for three new movies — SEASON’S GREETINGS FROM CHERRY LANE, HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM CHERRY LANE and DECK THE HALLS ON CHERRY LANE.
In addition to the new movies, Hallmark also has plans to roll out some new TV shows, like FINDING MR. CHRISTMAS, an eight-episode reality series that will pit ten aspiring actors against each other as they “compete against one another for the lead role in an upcoming original holiday movie,” Variety reported, adding that the winner will “star opposite Jessica Lowndes in the original movie HAPPY HOWLIDAYS, premiering December 21 on Hallmark Channel.”
Two new limited series will roll out on Hallmark+, the channel’s streaming app.
MISTLETOE MURDERS, based on an Audible series, “follows a Christmas-themed gift shop owner whose friend is accused of murder,” per Variety, while HOLIDAZED follows “six families from different backgrounds all living on the same cul-de-sac.”
