Kirk Cameron is a bright light in Hollywood, bringing his crossover of faith into media with diligence.

“I think it’s the gospel taking root in my heart,” he explained of integrating faith into film in a recent interview with Alisa Childers.

He explained the parable of the soils, where Jesus used an example of four kinds of soils, and each has a different result on the plant that grows there.

“There’s the soil with all the stones in the shallow earth. And then there’s the soil filled with all sorts of weeds that grow up and choke the plant so it’s not fruitful. And then there’s the good soil, and I think the gospel was faithfully preached to me. And God in His kindness moved me to pull up the rocks through repentance so that roots go down deep into his word,” the LEFT BEHIND actor explained.

He explained that God is pleased when He sees His children bear fruit.

“That’s a gift of the Lord,” Cameron said. “And I’m I’m so grateful.”

Cameron previously told CBN, “it’s my sacred duty and responsibility before God to be salt and light in the world. People say, ‘What about the darkness?’  Well, Jesus said, ‘You are the light of the world.’ They say, ‘What about all the corruption?’ Jesus said, ‘You are the salt of the earth.’  It is up to us to push back the darkness and to stop the corruption.”

Cameron currently hosts a kids TV show, IGGY AND MR. KIRK, TAKEAWAYS WITH KIRK CAMERON and a YouTube series called THE KIRK CAMERON SHOW.

In recent years, he’s travelled around the nation reading his virtuous children’s books at public libraries. He became a Christian while filming GROWING PAINS in the ’80s. Since then, he’s performed in a number of faith-based movies, including the LEFT BEHIND movies and FIREPROOF, which earned him a Movieguide® Teddy Bear Award®.

“This is the most exciting time to be a Christian in America. It’s an exciting time to be alive,” Cameron said. “This could be our finest hour for the Kingdom of God, politically, in our churches, in our families, in our nation, for people of faith to shine like the sun.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful if people could gather together and come together as one?”

Cameron recently hosted pastor Allen Jackson, author Lee Strobel and Sheila Walsh on TAKEAWAYS. You can catch Cameron on TAKEAWAYS every weeknight at 8 p.m. CDT.
