‘God Truly Blessed Us’: Kids of ’90s Co-Stars Celebrate Engagement

The children of two ’90s co-stars are engaged! Eric Murphy, the son of actor Eddie Murphy, and Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of Martin Lawrence, got engaged this past weekend.

In a post to Instagram, Jasmin shared a sweet video of the engagement along with a caption that reads,

“11.27.2024 We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️ Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!” Jasmin posted on Instagram along with a sweet video of the engagement.

People on Instagram joined the couple in celebration. One user commented, “Imagine saying my grandfathers are Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING ENGAGED ❤️.” Another person added, “Oh my goodness. So incredibly happy for you. HE has found a good thing ???”

TODAY reported that “The couple went Instagram official in June 2021 when Eric Murphy posted that he was ‘head over heels in LOVE.’ Since then, they’ve each shared moments from their relationship online, from going to Hollywood events to vacationing together.”

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence starred together in two ’90s movies — LIFE and BOOMERANG — so having their children unite is very special.

“Jasmin’s always at the house with Eric. I think they’ll go to Martin’s and then they’ll come to me, then Martin,” Murphy previously told Al Roker of the couple’s relationship.

“It’s beautiful,” Martin said. “They both are beautiful young adults, and they get along so well. Whoever would’ve thought that my child and Eddie’s child would get together? It’s just what it is.”
