Tim Tebow pulled on a biblical truth to remind his fans how to stay rooted in a firm foundation even when facing major changes in life.
“Careers shift. Dreams evolve. Plans break. But your worth stays anchored in something deeper: You are made in the image of God and nothing can shake that,” Tebow wrote on Instagram.
Tebow is no stranger to major life changes.
After winning the Heisman trophy in 2007, he was on track to be a mainstay NFL quarterback. However, his success in college football did not carry over to professional football, and he was out of the league after only three years. Despite this disappointment, he didn’t let failure define his life, instead turning the platform given to him by football into something much greater than he could have ever achieved in the NFL.
In 2010, Tebow created the Tim Tebow Foundation which he has used to fight for the most vulnerable people worldwide. Through multiple programs, he brings dignity, respect and safety to a variety of people including those targeted by human trafficking and those with mental disabilities.

“One of the greatest calls on my life is to fight for people that can’t fight for themselves,” he said. “When I was 15 and in the jungles of the Philippines…I met a boy who was born with his feet on backwards. He was a throwaway to his village. But I knew that day he wasn’t a throwaway to God. I probably haven’t done it very well, but I’ve known that I was supposed to fight for boys and girls, men and women, hurting people all around the world that were viewed as less than. Because to God, nobody is.”
“Our heart at @timtebowfoundation is to fight for the Most Vulnerable People, the MVP— those who have been viewed as less than, insignificant or cursed, who have been thrown away, abandoned, trafficked or orphaned, or are in need of life-changing medical intervention,” he added. “Just as every life is valuable to God, every life is valuable to us at TTF.”
He didn’t let disappointment or bitterness take root after exiting the NFL and instead trusted God’s promise Paul teaches in Romans when he says, “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Tebow is a living example of how this is true and how the Lord can turn the most hurtful things in our lives into the best part of it. When he reminds his fans to stay rooted in the Lord, he means it because he knows just how important it is.
