Overwhelmed? HGTV Star Says This Prayer Brought Her Strength

In a chaotic and busy world, it can be hard to find time to rest. But HGTV star Jenny Marrs is sharing how she took time to slow down and refocus her priorities.
“When I looked at this week’s schedule, I was overwhelmed and, instead of worrying over how I’ll get it all done, I have prayed each morning for God to give me strength for what needs to be done, discernment over what can wait for another day, and, most important, to see glimpses of His love even in the craziness of my schedule,” Marrs wrote on Instagram.
“Today, right smack in the middle of a frenzied day of filming and checking in on renovations, I had to pop over to our neighbor’s barn to pick up something Dave needed to finish a project,” she continued. “I stopped by the house and asked if anyone wanted to run over with me and Char and Luke jumped at the chance to visit Mr. Tommy and his animals (especially the new baby donkey!). And just like that, time slowed for a few minutes and we made a sweet memory together. An answered prayer, indeed.”
Many of Marrs’ followers thanked her for the little piece of wisdom.
“Thank you for sharing this lovely example of how God turns our anxious moments into reasons to praise Him,” one follower wrote.
Another said, “There have been days when I really didn’t know how my to do list could possibly get completed in a day. I have no doubt that God hears our prayers and is able to somehow stop time or slow it down enough for us to complete those tasks and even have time to create these special moments with our families which are so important to us and Him.”
“Thank you for the sweet reminder to lean into God in times of feeling overwhelmed and worry, to pray for his strength,” another person wrote. “I needed this reminder today!”
Movieguide® recently reported on another lesson Marrs learned from her sheep:
“After moving the sheep back to our front pasture (we regularly rotate pastures to keep the ground and the sheep healthy), I thought about how many spiritual lessons I’ve learned from caring for my little flock,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.
“Watching my four-legged babies flourish in a well-cared for pasture brings me such joy. I get the smallest glimpse in these moments of how deeply loved and cared for I truly am, even when I get distracted or I take my eyes of[f] Him or if I’m out in front like Teddy, listening and obeying,” she concluded. “In all times, He is patiently there, guiding me along to the abundantly green pastures He has prepared for me.”
Production for the sixth season of Marrs’ HGTV show, FIXER TO FABULOUS, which she and her husband, Dave, star in, is underway.
“Back in action filming the show. It’s hot but we are working on some really cool projects! 😂. Can’t wait to share them with you when season 6 airs!” Dave posted recently.
Since the beginning, the Marrses have seen God’s hand on the show. Earlier this year, Jenny shared what they prayed before taking on FIXER TO FABULOUS eight years ago.
“I prayed simply, ‘Lord, if this is what you want for us to do, if this will bring you glory, if we can use this opportunity to shine a light into this dark world, then let it happen. If this isn’t in your plans for us, if this is against your will, then slam the door shut,’” she recalled.
