By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer
Alex Trebek, host of the poplar gameshow JEOPARDY! was choked up with emotion on Monday night after a contestant showed a simple act of kindness.
A contestant from Brown University, Dhruv Gaur, wasn’t sure what the answer to the final question was, so instead of guessing, he wrote a message of “We love you, Alex.”

Trebek responded, with emotion in his voice, “That’s very kind, thank you.”

The answer lost Gaur the game, and $1,995, but the act of kindness was truly priceless.
This gesture comes after Trebek revealed his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March.
Since then, contestants have been honoring the gameshow host in any way they can.
Just last week, Movieguide® reported that contestants in the Tournament of Champions wore purple ribbons for those who have been affected by pancreatic cancer.
Trebek has also been an inspiration to others fighting their own battles.
In October, Movieguide® reported that Trebek called a superfan who was saddened when hearing the news of the Trebek’s cancer diagnosis.
