Prayer Alert: RUSH OF HOPE Pastor Greg Laurie Tests Positive for COVID-19

The head pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, Greg Laurie, announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing symptoms such as aches and pains, a fever, and general fatigue.
“Then I found out the news that I didn’t want to find out–that I have the coronavirus,” Laurie told CBN in a video.
Though the pandemic slowed many people–and churches–down, Laurie continued to minister hope during the quarantine. The popular pastor even released a digital crusade through RUSH OF HOPE, dubbed as a “cinematic crusade.”
A RUSH OF HOPE aired on over 600 radio stations and dozens of online streaming services. The movie features encouraging messages from Laurie, excerpts from faith-based movies such as I STILL BELIEVE and WOODLAWN, and performances from Christian music artists Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, and For KING & COUNTRY.

Greg Laurie’s new movie, A RUSH OF HOPE, grabbed the attention of over 1.8 million people over Labor Day weekend and broke all attendance records in Harvest Crusades’ 30-year ministry.
“We are breaking every record we have ever set in our history,” Laurie, founder and pastor of the Harvest churches located in California and Hawaii, said.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, the church’s outreach looked different but allowed for an even broader audience to tune in to the message of hope and faith. A RUSH OF HOPE aired on over 600 radio stations and dozens of online streaming services. The movie features encouraging messages from Laurie, excerpts from faith-based movies such as I STILL BELIEVE and WOODLAWN, and performances from Christian music artists Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, and For KING & COUNTRY.
Despite his diagnosis, Laurie encouraged people to show compassion to those who are struggling with the virus before politicizing the virus.
“I just wish that at a time like this we could not politicize this and show compassion to people that are struggling with this. It’s real,” Laurie said. “It really is a pandemic that’s swept our nation and even the world.”
The senior pastor also extended prayers to President Donald Trump, who announced that both he and his wife tested positive for COVID-19, and others with the virus.
“If the President of the United States can get it, obviously anybody can get it,” he continued. “But with God’s help and your prayers, I expect to get through this.”
Laurie said that he trusts that God is in control over his life, no matter the outcome of contracting the virus.
“You know it’s important as Christians for us to be reminded that God’s in control of our lives. And I don’t know why he allowed me to get it, but I got it,” Laurie said. “So He’ll get me through it. He’s always been faithful to me in the past. But ultimately, I know my time is in his hands. When that moment comes for me to leave this world, I’ll leave. And I won’t leave a moment before it, and I won’t leave a moment after.”
Laurie is optimistic about the future and asked for prayer for a quick recovery as he faces this trial with his “confidence in Christ.”
“And so with that confidence in Christ, and in the hope that I have, and your prayers for my rapid recovery, I trust that I will come through this and be seeing you all in person soon. Thanks again for your concern and your prayers. God bless you,” Laurie concluded.
