Season 6 of the hit series THE CHOSEN is in production, and actress Lara Silva, who plays Simon Peter’s wife Eden, reflected on how the show has impacted her relationship with Christ.

“I’ve grown tremendously in my faith,” Silva told Crosswalk Headlines, “I feel like I’ve been able to be bolder about it.”

The actress, who was nominated for Movieguide®’s Grace Award for her performance in DIVINE INFLUENCER, said that that boldness has been “really liberating.”

“It feels good to be able to share my personal experiences and know that this is real — that God is real. Yeah, it’s shaped everything,” Silva went on to say.

For the Brazil native, when it comes to how she came to faith and her acting career, she “can’t tell [about] one without the other.”

“It’s been completely life changing for me personally, because I didn’t grow up with a strong like faith …we didn’t go to church. I didn’t own a Bible. I didn’t have, you know, that root under me,” Silva told CBN’s Tre Goins-Phillips. “So in my mid 20s was when I personally found my calling and my relationship with Christ, and was when I realized that I needed Him if I was going to go after this crazy industry of acting, which I also didn’t find until I found God.”

Originally she auditioned for the part of Mary Magdalene but ended up landing the role of Eden, which she saw as an “incredible opportunity.”

“I felt like it clicked more as well spiritually for me — and just being able really to dive into…what it must have been like for her, and use my own experiences as well,” she said.

She went into more detail about how she related to her character in another interview.

“[A] lot of Eden is me. So yes, she’s sweet, and you know, she’s a strong woman of faith, and she’s a daughter and a wife and all these things,” she told Hope 103.2’s Laura Bennett. “But, you know, she has some strength and fire in her too.”

With Season 6 of the Bible series portraying Jesus’ crucifixion, Silva knew that it would be challenging to film, but she said, “I’m gonna go through with it as best as I can.”

Silva gave a sneak peak of the emotional upcoming season from their time filming in Italy.

“Ugly crying through Matera, every step toward the cross,” she posted.

“It is absolutely the hardest and most powerful experience on set to recreate. I can not believe I’m here!” she replied in her post. “We can’t wait to watch and be heart broken again with everyone.”

While the release date hasn’t been announced for the episodes leading up to the Season 6 finale, which Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, said will be the “most profound season,” the finale is set for the big screen March 12, 2027.
