Jonny Coyne is officially reprising his role as Imperial Warlord in the upcoming THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU.
Coyne’s character previously appeared in Episode 7 of THE MANDALORIAN Season 3, as part of the Shadow Council that is working secretly in opposition to the New Republic.
He isn’t the only new face joining the movie — THE BEAR’s Jeremy Allen White was also recently confirmed as a cast member.
“Jeremy Allen White has joined the STAR WARS film THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU as the voice of Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt, Variety has confirmed,” the outlet reported. “The project marks the first major franchise for the actor following his Emmy-winning breakout role on the FX series THE BEAR.”
THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU is currently in production, directed and co-written by Jon Favreau.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said in a statement about the project. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, added, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
Pedro Pascal will star as the Mandalorian, a role he has played since the 2019 series premiered. Sigourney Weaver is also set to appear in an undisclosed role.

“What we know from footage shown at D23 back in August is that THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU features a Hoth-like landscape ala 1980’s THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK with AT-ATs,” Deadline reported. “Also Babu Frick from STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER has a cameo along with red alien Zeb from Filoni’s animated series STAR WARS: REBELS.”
