Greg Laurie saw thousands of students at Utah Valley University give their life to Christ during an event that took place roughly two months after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at the same campus.

“Our one-night event, ‘Hope For America,’ was a real move of God. We only had six weeks to pull it together, and our team worked overtime – along with our friends in Utah – to make it happen. Hundreds of people volunteered their time and came at their own expense to be part of something truly special…I would even say historic,” Laurie shared on X.

“Here is the moment at the end of my message and look at the response, which was incredible,” he continued. “Over 1,000 people went forward to make a commitment to Christ, and another 1,000+ prayed with us from their seats to make the same commitment. What a night. I will not forget it.”

This outpouring of faith at Utah Valley University follows a nationwide trend that has occurred since Kirk’s death. While Kirk was best known for his political commentary and his college campus events where he would debate students about any and all topics, he was also a very strong Christian whose beliefs were rooted in his faith. He would bring the gospel into conversations at every opportunity and often spoke about what America was losing as it turned towards secularism.

In the wake of his death, America has seen a revival as his message of faith is being broadcasted across the country.

“His death has sparked what’s being called the Charlie Kirk effect, a surge of young adults testifying that Charlie’s courage in standing up for his faith has them going back to church for the first time in years,” explained CBN’s David Brody. “People that didn’t even know Charlie Kirk were moved by this. And you wonder why that was exactly. Well, look, I think we’re in a spiritual battle, and I think people are searching for the truth. And I think Charlie Kirk was speaking about things of God.”

“I’ve seen Charlie’s martyred blood water the seeds of revival,” added podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey, “and I’ve seen those seeds already begin to take root and sprout up. Charlie’s unflinching boldness for the gospel is not for naught. It has already ignited so much faith, so much hope and fierceness for the truth.”

That effect has now come to the place where it all started after Laurie brought the gospel to Utah Valley University. It is amazing to see how the student body responded so strongly as thousands gave their life to Christ. Praise the Lord for how He is moving in our country.
