Todd Tilghman Wants to Use His VOICE Victory To Share the Kingdom of God

By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Pastor Todd Tilghman, this year’s winner of THE VOICE, wants to use his victory to shine a light on the Kingdom of God.

“I would love to share my faith and my family and who I am with the world,” he told CBN. “And show the world that there’s someone like me who just loves them unconditionally.”

After becoming a fan favorite on the singing competition show, Tilghman took home the crown after performing the hit song “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me during the final round.

His journey on the show almost didn’t happen, though.

“My wife, Brooke, told me I would regret it if I didn’t go,” he said. “Thank God for her and thank God I changed my mind and decided to go. It’s been like a dream. Everyone keeps telling me to just soak it in, but it’s hard to do because you just can’t believe you are really there.”

Movieguide® previously reported that the Mississippi pastor only sang in church before his audition for the show.

During his audition, he was able to get all four judges to turn their chairs for him. He joined country singer Blake Shelton’s team, who is statistically the best coach in terms of winning.

One of Shelton’s team members has won the show seven times during the show’s 18 seasons.

Tilghman’s big win gave him an even bigger platform then he could’ve imagined.

He took home $100,000 and a record deal. A book deal and a reality television show could be on the horizonal as well according to Faithwire.

Most importantly, Tilghman’s time on the show brough his already close family even closer.

“We’ve always been a really close family, but I actually think this has caused us to come even closer,” he said.
