Worship artist Brandon Lake shared the heartfelt reason he “sing[s] about miracles” in his 2024 K-LOVE Award acceptance speech.

“I’m just so thankful for my family,” Lake said in a video recently shared to TBN’s Facebook page. “I couldn’t be Male Artist of the Year if it wasn’t for my parents. And the truth is, my parents endured six miscarriages, and after two or three of them, God gave you guys me.”

He joked, “That sounded kind of weird. Like, I’m the biggest blessing in the world,” then continued, “But six miscarriages, and I’ve got friends going through the very same thing. And I just wanted to say — I wanted to honor my family and say that a lot of these songs that I’m writing are very true.”

“I should not be alive. I am a miracle child. And I know a lot of people are going through the same thing,” Lake said. “That’s why I sing about miracles. Because I am one.”

Lake then thanked his parents for their “faithfulness” and for “clinging to God’s promises,” as well as the fans for “believing in me, for supporting me, for listening to the songs, for sharing them.”

The worship artist shared his story in “Miracle Child,” a song about his mother’s miscarriages and her trust in God’s plan.

“My parents experienced 6 miscarriages and that’s why I can confidently say that I AM A MIRACLE CHILD,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “I wrote this song from that place. I pray it gives you faith to know nothing is impossible for God.”

Lake is currently reaching a whole new audience, thanks to country star Jelly Roll. He recently invited Lake to join him onstage at the Stagecoach music festival, where the pair sang their hit collaboration “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”

“@stagecoach WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!!” Lake captioned a photo of himself, Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, Alex Warren and Lana Del Rey. “I don’t even know how to process all that just went down.”

He continued, “Something wild is happening. I wish I could tell each of you about. God’s so kind. As unforgettable as the moments on stage were, I’m thankful mostly for all the profound convos backstage. Hoping we get the invite back after how you all responded to last night. That was wild!!!”
