Cindy Busby opened up about the impact working on faith-based content has made on her journey with the Lord and helped her confidence in her faith grow.

“What I’ve noticed about my life and career is it’s been a very interesting parallel experience, and I don’t really know which one comes first, but they have come together to complete each other. My faith has really grown in, I’m going to say, the last 12 years. And it’s been interesting that my characters in the projects, and specifically the people I have been working with, have been aligned and found their way to me in the most divine manner,” Busby told Movieguide®.

“My surrendering and my faith has grown with all of those things that have created themselves in my life… and that just hopefully manifests itself to the audience and can allow them, too, to keep expanding their own faith,” the WHEN HOPE CALLS actress continued.

“I’ve always had a sense that something was taking care of everything. And I don’t mean that in a material or superficial way, like, I just get stuff when I feel like I need it. But things line up, not in the way that you want them to and not in the way you thought they would, but when you look back you go, ‘Wow, I can’t believe that,’” she described.

WHEN HOPE CALLS is certainly another project under Busby’s belt that combines her faith with her career. The series builds on the success of WHEN CALLS THE HEART and shows how the Lord can move as a characters work to establish themselves in a community and all the struggles that come with doing so. A portion of Movieguide®’s review of the Season 3 opener reads:

The first episode of Season 3 of WHEN HOPE CALLS:  BROOKFIELD delivers high production values. Authentic sets and beautiful costumes highlight the episode’s small-town charm. Expansive shots of the surrounding landscape draw viewers into every corner of the community, while the actors heighten the drama with heartfelt performances. The first episode of Season 3 of WHEN HOPE CALLS:  BROOKFIELD has a strong Christian, biblical worldview. It stresses community, helping others and protecting your neighbor. Characters discuss starting a local church and interview a prospective preacher who talks about trusting God’s timing while validating the Bible. The Season 3 opening of WHEN HOPE CALLS:  BROOKFIELD includes some peril and light action violence. It will inspire viewers with hope, courage and uplifting entertainment.

Busby joined the show at the start of Season 2 as Nora Anderson, a lawyer coming to the Brookfield community after leaving San Francisco.

“I’m very excited to be playing Nora Anderson, who is a lawyer in the 1920s, no less, from San Francisco and most of her family has passed away and she finds out that she had some family living in Brookfield. So, she makes the trip to go and find this family she didn’t know that she had and enters Brookfield not knowing if she’ll be accepted.” Busby told Movieguide® when she joined the show.

“To get to play Nora, who is such, you know, a strong, smart, really loving character, was so amazing, especially because of the time period,” Busby continued. “So I was really excited.”

Given the rise in popularity of faith-based content throughout the entertainment industry, it is amazing to see how they not only impact their audience’s faith but also grow the casts’ relationship with the Lord.
