YouTube Fixes Glitch Suppressing Podcast Featuring Donald Trump

YouTube has fixed a glitch on its platform that limited the reach of a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” featuring presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The glitch caused the three-hour-long interview not to show up when searched for, though clips from the episode would appear. YouTube has since fixed the problem and apologized for the issue.
“For some searches on Monday the original 3-hour interview didn’t appear prominently,” YouTube said in a statement. “Short excerpts uploaded by the Joe Rogan channel appeared, but we know it was frustrating for users looking to find the full video. We’ve worked to resolve this and viewers will begin seeing the full podcast in more YouTube search results soon.”
Before the fix, Joe Rogan had reposted a comment on X that highlighted the issue.
“Tried to find the Rogan/Trump interview on YouTube but no matter what I search, it’s not coming up. Would be beyond bonkers if they’re actively trying to suppress it,” wrote David Heinemeier Hansson, CTO of Basecamp. “Must be a glitch, right?”
This is the second time in three months that social media companies have had to fix mistakes in their systems that suppressed conservative figures. In August, posts about Dennis Quaid’s REAGAN were censored on Facebook, causing them to have little to no reach. Though Meta fixed the problem and apologized for the issue, Quaid was flabbergasted that it occurred in the first place.
“I’m baffled by it, to tell you the truth, because it was banned, and they haven’t even seen the film,” Quaid said during an interview with Fox News. “So it seems like they don’t want people to see the film either, I guess. But, you know, we’ll set up a screening for them, and they can see for themselves. The movie is about America in the ’80s and Ronald Reagan and his life and it’s about fighting communism.”
It seems to be automated [to censor conservatives] for some reason…this happened several times actually, and we were suspended for two days in a row…But last time I heard, Reagan hasn’t been on the ballot for 40 years,” Quaid added jokingly. “Not only is he not on the ballot, but he is totally ineligible because he has served two terms.”
