What You Need To Know:

Judy Redlich is a radio and television host, an accomplished musician, public speaker, and totally blind. In the program FOCUS, she introduces us to six people who are physically disabled and yet have made great achievements. Gregory Franzen became a quadriplegic as a youth when he broke his neck jumping into a pond. Through faith in God, he has become a significant architect. Paris Guerin, a hard-of-hearing university lab technician, has aspirations to be a forensic pathologist. Julie McGinty is a totally blind beautiful singer who wants to be an opera star.

These people share their hopes and dreams and help the viewer understand that persons with disabilities are just like you and me. In FOCUS, each stresses that one of the hardest things to overcome was not their disabilities, but the stereotypical opinions of others. By overcoming, each person featured has achieved far more than many people who are not disabled. Throughout this excellent video are references to faith and the support of the church. It is a clear indication that the government is not the answer, but Jesus Christ’s unique Christian vision for each individual is the answer.

More Detail:

Judy Redlich is a radio and television host, an accomplished musician, public speaker, wonderful friend, and totally blind. In the program FOCUS, she introduces us to six people who are physically disabled and yet have made great achievements.

Gregory Franzen became a quadriplegic at a young age when he broke his neck jumping into a pond. Through faith in God and wisdom, he has become a significant architect. Paris Guerin, a hard-of-hearing university lab technician, has aspirations to be a forensic pathologist. Julie McGinty is totally blind and a beautiful singer who wants to be an opera star.

These, and other disabled people, share their hopes and dreams, and help the viewer understand that persons with disabilities are just like you and me. In FOCUS, each stresses that one of the hardest things to overcome was not their individual disabilities, but the negative and stereotypical opinions of others. “Focus on our abilities, treat us as equals and offer us the same opportunities you’d offer anyone else,” says Mrs. Redlich. By overcoming tremendous obstacles, each person featured has achieved far more than many people who are not disabled. Throughout this video are references to faith and the support of the church. It is a clear indication that the government is not the answer, but Jesus Christ’s unique Christian vision for each individual is the answer.
