Praise Jesus! Technology Unites Churches Across The Country During Coronavirus Outbreak
By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor
Churches across the country and beyond united amidst the coronavirus outbreak by streaming church to their mobile phones, laptops and home televisions. Praise Jesus!
Movie producer, author and pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship said:
Yesterday, at our Church online, which we call “Harvest At Home” we did a special front room-like set with some of our worship team and my wife and son.
I shared a message, which you can watch at Harvest.org titled, “What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do”. Conservatively, 231,277 people watched.
Many watched at home with family so the number could easily be double that.
BTW, that’s a 400% increase from regular attendance online and in person.
At the end of my message I extended an opportunity for people to put their faith in Christ and be forgiven on their sins.
1.438 people responded.
Like Laurie’s congregation, Lee Strobel, whose story inspired the Movieguide® Award nominated THE CASE FOR CHRIST, also saw many come to faith through online resources.
Over 300 salvations through Woodlands Church’s online services this weekend. Thank God! Praying that this medical crisis sparks a revival!

Other pastors like Rick Warren of Purpose Driven Life, provided links to their messages about the hope humanity has in Christ on their social media, continuing to use these digital platforms for the glory of God.

In chaotic times like these, it’s necessary for the global church to continue preaching the Good News of Jesus to all who need healing and reconciliation to God the Father.

Perhaps your church congregation moved services to online to honor the governments measures for health safety.
Feel free to share how God’s using your local body of believers to encourage others in this time of uncertainty.
“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” – Philippians 2:1-2 (NIV).
