THE PARENT TRAP costars Dennis Quaid, Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix recently reunited in the DANCING WITH THE STARS ballroom!

“It means everything to me, the love and support of the people who are here and the people who aren’t here,” Hendrix, who is currently competing on this season of DWTS, told PEOPLE. “I just — I feel so much love. And when you are lucky enough to have these kinds of people in your life, you have to hold on to them because they’re lifers.”

Hendrix and her partner, Alan Bersten, danced to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole as part of the show’s Dedication Night. She dedicated the performance to Walter, who joined Hendrix and Bersten on the dance floor.

“We know what to say to each other because we know each other so well,” Hendrix said of Walter, who is one of her close friends. “So when I start to get on the edge, she knows how to bring me back and how to calm me down. And so having her here means everything to me.”

Quaid watched from the sidelines and was seen giving his former costars some words of encouragement before the performance.

In a post-performance interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor joked that he wanted to join Hendrix and Walter, saying, “Something was pulling me towards that dance floor. Security had to stop me.”

THE PARENT TRAP has been one of Quaid’s most popular roles; in the movie, he plays Nick Parker, father to separated twins Hallie and Annie. Hendrix played Meredith Blake, while Walters played Chessy.

Quaid told PEOPLE it’s the role he’s most recognized for, sharing, “Everybody grew up with THE PARENT TRAP and there’s always new kids coming along.”

“I tell people, ‘I was your babysitter because your parents would put this on to go do what they wanted to do in the next room,’” the actor joked.

The DWTS reunion had many wondering if a PARENT TRAP sequel could be in the works, but Quaid recently warned fans not to get their hopes up.

“There had been some talk, but it would be impossible to do now,” he told Business Insider earlier this year. “I don’t think we’d have the heart for it. Maybe one day, another version will be made for another generation.”

A PARENT TRAP sequel might be off the table, but fans of the beloved movie were overjoyed to see Hendrix, Walter and Quaid reunite for DANCING WITH THE STARS.
