Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen is on a mission to make heaven crowded.

“I think my family’s name is great in the eyes of God, but in the eyes of the world, nobody really knew the Treinens, and I don’t really care if they do, but I want them to see Christ’s greatness and what He’s accomplished in my career,” he told CBN Sports.

“I don’t want to see any of my teammates or anybody in the stands or anybody in this world face the alternative,” he continued, referencing hell.

“How do we make heaven crowded? And that’s really my goal,” he revealed. “Every single one of us have been given a gift, and our way of repaying it to the Lord is, how do we honor Him with that gift? When I am welcomed into the gates of heaven, I want to hear, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.'”

He previously described how he honors Jesus on the mound, saying, “He’s my everything. I wouldn’t be here without my relationship with Jesus. So when I’m on the mound, that’s my form of worship. I draw a cross and point up so that people know who I play for.”

Last year, Treinen, a relief pitcher for the team since 2020, spoke at the Dodgers’ Faith and Family event, opening with Romans 10:9, his favorite Bible verse: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

“God knows your heart. You can’t just fake it. Faith isn’t about seeking the benefits of Heaven; it’s about genuinely believing in your heart,” the pitcher said of the verse. “Our job is to humble our hearts and admit we are sinners in need of a Savior. and that Jesus paid for it on the cross.”

After the Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres in last year’s NLDS game, Treinen told Fox Sports, “It’s one of the most memorable days of my life…For God to give me an opportunity to close out a game with the Dodgers against this great team, it’s a true blessing.”

Treinen is on a mission to share the love of Christ with as many people as he can, and every time he steps on the mound, he makes sure God gets the glory.
