Tim Tebow explained how every person ever made has an incredible amount of value innately ascribed to their lives, however, too often we overlook others and treat them as if they were worth nothing.

“If I lost a penny and I said, ‘Man, I lost a penny, I really have to find it. I can’t find it. It’s under the couch. It’s under something…’ You would look at me and be like, ‘Tebow, you’re an idiot. You’ve lost it.’ But if my wife was here and she lost her diamond ring, you would know innately that it is valuable to her and, a diamond ring is valuable. So you would probably be kind enough to say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna stop and I’m gonna look for it,’ right?” Tebow said while on Kirk Cameron’s TAKEAWAYS. “But in our society, how often do we treat people like pennies instead of more valuable than any diamond ring that has ever been created or found? If we see people as valuable and we know they’re innately valuable, we will treat them that way. But we don’t always see people that way.”

The Bible is clear that every single person ever born was created in the image of God and has indescribable value because of that. The Lord sees this value in every person which is why He not only died on the cross in our place, but also offers believers a share of Christ’s inheritance.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,” Paul writes in Ephesians 2:10.

Tebow has placed incredible effort toward seeing this value in others, and now has multiple avenues through his Tim Tebow Foundation through which he serves those overlooked by the rest of the world. Whether it be his annual “Night to Shine” event which celebrates those living with disabilities or his work to combat human trafficking around the world, Tebow fights for the world’s most vulnerable people every day.

His work, however, does not stop there as Tebow also works to encourage his fans and help them believe they have value every day through his social media platforms.

“I believe every single one of us has a mission,” Tebow said last year, encouraging his followers to make the most of their lives. “What does ‘mission’ mean? Mission means a task or a job someone is given to do, but its origin actually means to be sent… I believe every single one of us has been sent here for a reason. No matter if we feel equipped, or if we feel too young or too old. If you have breath, you have purpose, you have a mission.”

Tebow’s reminder is extremely important and would absolutely change the world if every Christian saw their neighbors with their innate value, rather than largely seeing those around them as the world tells them to.
