Actress Roma Downey shared a prayer for peace and healing amid the current worldwide outbreak of violence.
“Dear God, our world is torn with war and violence. I pray that You provide this world with a peace that is found in You. I pray for all who are suffering from war and violence all around the world. I pray You provide them with protection and healing and I pray for an end to these wars and acts of violence,” she prayed.
“I pray for an end to hatred and wickedness. I pray for Your healing. I pray for an end to all the trauma and hurting. I pray for Your healing. I pray for Your love to reign over all. I pray for all those who have lost so much and who hurt so much,” her prayer continued. “Be with them Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.”
Downey has long been a prayer warrior, often speaking to the power of prayer and encouraging her fans to make a habit of speaking to God.
Movieguide® reported:
“[Prayer is] a very powerful tool that’s available to each and every one of us,” Downey said of her book in a recent interview with CBN. “I haven’t made any decision big or small that I haven’t prayed about first…”
“Prayer is so powerful, and I’ve just seen in my own life, the power of prayer and how prayer has worked,” she explained. “If it didn’t always bring the miracle that I prayed for, the miracle was that it brought maybe peace and comfort to my own heart. Maybe it helped take away some of that worry.”
While Downey is open about her faith, many celebrities who are less public with their faith have recently taken to social media to share prayers and show support for Israel as their war with Hamas continues.
Earlier this week, Hollywood released an open letter signed by over 100 celebrities condemning Hamas violence and showing their support for Israel.

Paramount is the first major studio to officially comment on the situation, stating, “Paramount Global condemns the terrorist attacks by Hamas. We stand with the people of Israel and the global Jewish community. We stand with all the innocent lives impacted. We stand with the children who deserve to be children. We stand united against all acts of terror and hate.”
Variety reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger sent a message to the company’s Shalom BERG group, made up of Jewish Disney employees.
“I’ve had the chance to speak with a number of our Jewish colleagues over the past few days about the horrific terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel, and I want to reach out to this group directly to express my shock and sadness,” Iger’s message read.
