Are GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Actors Joining DCU?

DC Studios co-head James Gunn is teasing that some of Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actors could join the DC Universe.
A fan on Threads asked Gunn, “if you had the chance to cast any of the GOTG stars in the DC Universe, who would you cast them as?”
Gunn responded: “Well that would be a spoiler wouldn’t it?”
As of right now, only one GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actor is confirmed to be moving to the DCU.
“Sean Gunn, who portrayed Kraglin under his brother’s supervision in the GUARDIANS trilogy, has already worked in a DC film. He famously voiced Weasel in 2021’s THE SUICIDE SQUAD in the now-defunct DCEU. James Gunn’s sibling has now been drafted into the rebooted DC Universe and is set to portray Maxwell Lord and G.I. Robot,” Super Hero Hype reported.
However, GUARDIANS star Chris Pratt, who played Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the MCU, has also expressed interest in joining the DCU.
“Anything is possible, and especially with James over at DC,” Pratt told ComicBook.com. “Maybe there’s something that would be right over there. Maybe both. How about both? Let’s do both. I think it’s 100% both.”
“If it could fit into my schedule and it made sense, I would love it,” he added previously. “I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James [Gunn] to decide.”
While no Marvel stars besides Sean Gunn have been confirmed for DCU movies, James Gunn has only added fuel to the speculations. And he’s adamant about bringing the DC Universe back to life.
“We have a lot to prove. It’s going to be up to us to show the audience what our universe is, how this is connected, [to] clearly demarcate what is DCU and what is Elseworlds, and to move like that going [forward]. So it’s going to take some time,” he said.
Gunn recently wrapped filming for his upcoming SUPERMAN movie. Movieguide® previously reported:
James Gunn thanked Cleveland for being such a great host while filming took place in the city and revealed that the shoot for the movie has almost been completed…
SUPERMAN, formerly called SUPERMAN: LEGACY began production in February. In the comments of his post, Gunn revealed that the movie only has a few weeks left of filming before it enters post-production.
The movie serves as the pilot project for the Gunn-led DC universe. He plans on revitalizing the franchise and hopes he can create a universe even better than Marvel’s through long-term thinking from the start.
“A lot of people think it’s going to be Marvel 2.0, and definitely I learned a lot of stuff at Marvel. I think that we have a lot of differences,” Gunn said in January. “We are telling a big, central story that is like Marvel, except for, I think that we’re a lot more planned out than Marvel from the beginning because we’ve gotten a group of writers together to work that story out completely.”
