Athletes Proclaim Jesus’ Name Throughout College Football

With the College Football Playoffs and Bowl games underway, college football stars across the country use their platform to share their faith.
Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard led his team to a huge win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
“First of all, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without Him, I wouldn’t be here, and we wouldn’t be here as a whole group. … I’m just so grateful for this opportunity,” he told the media after the game.
Similarly, Ohio State quarterback Will Howard also gave the glory back to Jesus after the Buckeyes won the Rose Bowl.
“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “You know, first and foremost, I’ve gotta thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity to be on this stage and here, in the Rose Bowl. A younger me would be in awe right now.”

Before the Gator Bowl between Ole Miss and Duke, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin led his team out of the tunnel and into the end zone to kneel together in prayer.
Kiffin has always been vocal about his faith. In 2022, he told Sports Spectrum, “[My faith] just really helps me when I’m in moments of where you’re so worried about what everybody’s thinking — your wins, your losses, all this — when I can remind myself, ‘OK, that’s really what I’m defined by. How am I being as a kid to the Lord, as His son?’ I’m not great at it, but when I do that, that puts things in perspective for me a lot.”
After the unbelievable finish between Texas and ASU, running back Nik Sanders approached ASU running back Cam Skattebo to ask if he could pray for Skattebo.
