Comcast’s New ‘Reduced Price’ Streaming Bundle Includes Peacock, Netflix, Apple TV+

To keep up with Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Disney+, Hulu and Max streaming bundle, Comcast is launching one of its own.
Comcast’s bundle will include Peacock, Netflix and Apple TV+.
Per Variety, “Dubbed StreamSaver, the bundle will be available to all Comcast broadband and TV customers, [Comcast chairman and CEO Brian] Roberts said, speaking Tuesday at MoffettNathanson’s 2024 Media, Internet and Communications Conference in New York.”
The bundle will “come at a vastly reduced price to anything in the market today,” Roberts added.
The goal of the bundle will be to “add value for consumers [and] at the same time take some of the dollars out of other people’s relationships and put them into our relationships.”
NBC News reported that the package is “an effort to reduce cancelation rates (aka ‘churn’) and provide a more efficient means of subscriber acquisition — coming as the traditional cable TV business continues to deteriorate.”
“We’ve been bundling video successfully and creatively for 60 years, and so this is the latest iteration of that,” Roberts explained. “I think this will be a pretty compelling package.”
Pricing for the bundle hasn’t been announced yet. However, “Peacock subscription plans start at $5.99 per month, though that’s increasing to $7.99 per month this summer. Comcast broadband customers typically receive a discount on the company’s streaming service,” CNBC reported.
Bundling is becoming more popular. Movieguide® reported on Disney and WBD’s new package:
Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery have announced a new bundle plan that would see them combine Disney+ and Hulu with Max.
“On the heels of the very successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” said Joe Earley, the president of direct-to-consumer for Disney. “This incredible new partnership puts subscribers first, giving them access to blockbuster films, originals, and three massive libraries featuring the very best brands and entertainment in streaming today.”
“This new offering delivers for consumers the greatest collection of entertainment for the best value in streaming, and will help drive incremental subscribers and much stronger retention,” said JB Perrette, CEO and President, Global Streaming and Games, Warner Bros. Discovery.
