Comedian, Rapper Reads Bible With His Kids: ‘Lead by Example’

Comedian and rapper DC Young Fly, whose real name is John Whitfield, loves to lead his kids by example.
A new Instagram post shows Young Fly holding his two children while reading his Bible.
“Gotta lead by example and actually live what you talking,” the comedian captioned the post. “Remember your kids watching and will keep habits that’s instilled in them!!! GOD has always been my provider and protector🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
“My dad read the Bible every day,” he continued before adding, “and I always wanted to know what he was reading…now I see why he was the man he was and why he moved how he did! GOD has always been in the mix and has always been in control!!!”
His kids are the most important thing to him.
“They give me motivation because I have something to live for,” DC said about his kids. “You have to make sure you put your best foot forward.”
The rapper relied on his faith after the death of his longtime partner and mother of his children, Jacklyn “Ms. Jacky Oh” Smith, last year.

“God is real,” Young Fly said on “The Breakfast Club” podcast. “I come from a church background. You know what I’m saying? But when you find your own relationship…this ain’t about nobody else relationship. This is all about me. I believe in a higher power, and I understand how life goes. We can’t get mad at how our life go. We can only control our emotions and how we react to it.”
“And I done been in other traumas prior to this where I done had those moments and those fallouts,” he continued. “And I was like, ‘ooh, I’m trippin.’ If something this small can have me trip out, I wouldn’t be equipped to deal with this…So I had to learn from the small battles.”
