Hallmark Promises to Spread Joy Through Rebranded Streaming Platform

By Movieguide® Contributor

Hallmark + is set to launch mid-September, and users will be able to stream their favorite movies anytime!

Currently called “Hallmark Movies Now,” the platform is rebranding and will offer ad-free options and “retail and product benefits.”

“By intertwining new, rich content experiences with tangible rewards and premium Hallmark gifts, we are delivering a unique, new program that reflects our commitment to spreading joy through our deeply beloved brand touchpoints,” said Hallmark President and CEO Mike Perry.

Variety reported, “Currently, Hallmark Movies Now plans begin at $5.99 a month or $59.99 for a year; Hallmark+ plans will start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. The membership includes exclusive benefits and rewards, including monthly $5 Hallmark Gold Crown Store coupons, free unlimited eCards, rewards for shopping, and surprise gifts.”

Hallmark announced the change on Instagram last week: “#BreakingNews! #HallmarkPlus is an all-new streaming service & membership program coming this September with the best of @hallmark all in one place including new exclusive movies & series, special offers, benefits and surprises! Keep following @hallmarkmoviesnow for more updates!  #TCA24”

“Yayyyy!!! I’m excited about this. Sign me up now! 👏👏👏” one user said.

Another commented, “Literally cannot wait. Signing up immediately when it’s available!!!”

An official date for the Hallmark + debut has not yet been announced, but viewers can still stay caught up with the studio’s content.

This month, Hallmark Movies Now has over 100 holiday movies available to celebrate Christmas in July, including the premiere of OPERATION NUTCRACKER and SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED: THE TALE OF THREE LETTERS.

Hallmark revealed plans for upcoming content coming later this year.

FINDING MR. CHRISTMAS, a Christmas-themed reality competition show, will be hosted by Jonathan Bennet. CELEBRATIONS WITH LACEY CHABERT will honor real-world heroes. READY, SET, GLOW!, hosted by Wes Brown, will release during the holiday season, highlighting extravagant holiday light displays and the people behind them.

Movieguide® previously reported on Hallmark’s Christmas programming:

The Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark are joining forces to create a holiday movie the whole family can enjoy.

“While the Chiefs are on their quest to three-peat, Kansas City fans may see an appearance from a Lombardi Trophy or perhaps two later this winter,” the NFL teased.

HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY will start production beginning in July and is expected to be ready by Christmas.

The movie “will star actors Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr. The movie is about a woman named Alana, played by King, who hails from a family of Chiefs fans and strikes up a relationship with Derrick (Hynes), the director of fan engagement for the team,” TODAY.com reported.
