How INSIDE OUT ‘Fundamentally Changed’ This Actress’ Life

Actress Amy Poehler says starring in the INSIDE OUT movies “fundamentally changed [her] life,” giving her a new outlook on how we experience our emotions.
“My experience in INSIDE OUT and INSIDE OUT 2 has truly, fundamentally changed my life,” she told PEOPLE while attending the 12th Annual Bring Change to Mind Revels & Revelations gala. “Playing a character like Joy, having big conversations about what our emotions do to us and how they live in us and how we’re supposed to experience them.”
Poehler added, “That and watching how different the past decade has been in terms of not only the resources we need, the conversations we need to have, but who we need to have them with. Tonight is filled with young people, and I think we have a lot to learn from them.”

She spoke to Variety about the INSIDE OUT movies, sharing, “[The people at] Pixar are just magicians. They’re so incredible at what they do, and the fact I get to be a part of it in any way is overwhelming to me. They just handle the nuance of how we have to figure out how to let go while parenting ourselves and letting our kids regulate themselves.”
The PARKS AND RECREATION actress is one of many pushing for another installment in the series.
“It would be amazing to keep following [Riley],” Poehler told Yahoo UK. “I mean maybe it could be as simple as we meet Riley when she’s graduating high school. Or she’s having her first experience of romantic love. I mean anything I can think of Pixar would think of a much better, more creative version.”
INSIDE OUT 2’s record-breaking box office performance would certainly encourage Pixar to start thinking of ideas for a third movie.
