Is DUCK DYNASTY Coming Back? Willie Robertson Tells All

DUCK DYNASTY is coming back, but not in the way we’re used to.

“So my kids are older,” DUCK DYNASTY’s Willie Robertson said on THE TUCKER CARLSON SHOW last week. “Well, 2017 to 2024…a lot’s happened. The cast has grown up.”

The original A&E show full of camouflage, faith and long beards ended in 2017 after 11 seasons.

“So yeah, back with A&E, we met, and they said, ‘Hey, are you guys interested in kinda redoing the show?’ And it felt like the time was right…met with the family, prayed about it, and said, ‘Yeah, I think so.’ The kids were excited,” said Robertson, a Movieguide® Teddy Bear Award® winner.

He stated he and his gang are “getting back in production,” calling it “the next generation of DUCK DYNASTY.”

This reflects what he recently told TV Insider: “We are looking into some different TV ideas. But to recapture what we did before is really not gonna happen. Sadly, everyone’s gotten older, and we’re in different places now. Our cast has expanded drastically. I have seven grandkids now, so we’ve got some ideas.”

The original show was a huge success for the Robertson family and A&E. It led to a handful of spin-offs: JEP & JESSICA, GROWING THE DYNASTY, GOING SI-RAL, IN THE WOODS WITH PHIL and DUCK FAMILY TREASURE.

Robertson knows that the show and its spin-offs had a significant impact on fans.

He said, “When you talk to people, and they tell you how much that meant to them… I can’t tell you how many people who are like, ‘Me and my dad used to watch together’ or ‘My mom passed away and it was the only thing we could laugh at together.”

“It’s really inspiring [and] it’s good to make something that, especially when it came out originally, it was pretty much a bright light among a lot of, you know, some dark stuff out there,” he said.

Robertson didn’t divulge who will be in the new series but hinted that family will be much of the main focus.

A “big part” of the original show was the prayer that the family had together at the end of every episode.

“It was a huge deal for something like that on television and wasn’t seen in the mainstream often,” Monsters and Critics reported. “However, the Robertson family made it clear that faith was a big deal for the family. “

Now, it’s what they’re known for as the family continuously participates in faith-based projects like THE BLIND, a movie about grandpa Phil Robertson’s journey to faith.
