LOVE IN HARMONY VALLEY Encourages Finding Healing From Your Past

By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

LOVE IN HARMONY VALLEY teaches audiences that you shouldn’t run from your past because facing it is the only way to move forward.

In the movie, Emma and her grandmother Rose both have to tackle situations in their past in order to create a brighter future. This means they must rely on their community to heal from heartache. The lesson is applicable in real life, as well.

Amber Marshall (HEARTLAND), who plays Emma said, “Find the people in your life who you can talk to without judgment. No great feat is accomplished alone. It takes support and understanding of those close to you. Don’t ever feel too weak or ashamed to ask for help.”

This community support enables us to grow beyond our comfort zones. In LOVE AND HARMONY VALLEY, Emma and Rose learn must learn that this support unchains them from their pasts.

“We are all creatures of habit, no matter how hard we try to think differently,” Marshall said. “Letting go of the past can be hard, especially when there are strong emotions tied to those memories. The best way to move forward is to create new positive moments that will shine brighter than the darkened past.”

In the movie, Emma must work with the entire town to build a future that reflects the ideas, needs and wants of all the people. This community endeavor inspired Marshall beyond the screen.

“I believe that compromise and working together are timeless concepts, not just a theme in today’s society but something that has always shaped progress. Every human has their own way of thinking, and it is when we put our differences aside that we can achieve the greatest benefit.”

These benefits don’t come without letting go of our own selfish desires.

“I believe we become stubborn in our thoughts and think that comprised ideas mean we are weak. I think it is quite the opposite. It takes strength and self-assurance to truly value the ideas of others,” she concludes.

Movieguide®’s review of LOVE IN HARMONY VALLEY says the movie “showcases moral elements like taking care of your family and friends and working together for a common goal. However, the story does focus on reopening a winery and has some moments where a character experiences panic attacks, which could scare some younger children.”

The UPtv original movie is set to re-air on the network July 25 at 9 p.m.
