Pastor Greg Laurie Insists ‘God Is Bigger Than the Coronavirus’

Harvest Christian Fellowship lead pastor Greg Laurie insists that God is bigger than the Coronavirus amidst widespread panic.
“Listen, the promises of God are still true!” said Laurie on his Instagram, citing a recent sermon. “God is bigger than the Coronavirus! I believe the Christian is indestructible until God is done with them.”
Laurie, whose team headed up the faith-based documentary STEVE MCQUEEN: AMERICAN ICON and leads the Harvest Crusades, cited Philippians 4 as a source of encouragement to avoid anxiety:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Laurie urged listeners to appeal to faith and their common sense. “Listen to the medical experts and take appropriate measures (Wash your hands, etc.),” said Laurie. Yet, faith is the antidote to fear, “We need to replace our fear with faith and pray for our nation, that God would protect us,” Laurie added.
Although Hollywood and other global industry continue to prepare for a monetary impact of the coronavirus, Laurie’s offers a sobering take on how to conduct oneself during the chaos to bring the Lord glory, “I think we should use it as an opportunity to talk about Jesus Christ,” said the megachurch pastor.
In the coming months, Laurie and I STILL BELIEVE filmmakers will shoot their next project, JESUS REVOLUTION. JESUS REVOLUTION chronicles the widespread revival in the 1960s-70s, where many people were saved, including Laurie.
Thought question: Could the coronavirus be a means for another “Jesus Revolution?”
