‘Thank You Lord’: Sam Hunt Celebrates Baby No. 2
By Movieguide® Contributor
Country star Sam Hunt and wife Hannah Lee Fowler just welcomed baby No. 2.
“Thank You Lord,” Hunt captioned a photo of the family, including 18-month-old daughter Lucy.
No other details about the baby have been released.
Hunt announced the couple were expecting their second child earlier this year at a Las Vegas concert.
An eyewitness at the concert told Entertainment Tonight that Hunt “told the crowd during his performance that he has baby No. 2 on the way.”
A rep for Hunt later confirmed the pregnancy to PEOPLE.
The country singer has previously spoken about how becoming a father has changed his life.
“Being away once you have a child in the world – and I’m a traveler, and I like to move,” said Hunt. “I like to be on the move – now that I have a child and she’s at home growing like a weed, I want to be there. I don’t want to miss anything.”
“I’ve been really enjoying being around her and her mom, and just experiencing the whole miracle of being a new dad,” he said of life with Lucy on the “Katie & Company” podcast.
“The rewarding part is coming home to that little smile and being able to spend your days,” Hunt continued. “Fortunately, I don’t have a 9 to 5 that I have to get up for on Monday morning, so I get to just sit there and hang out with little girl and mama all day long ‘til I gotta get back on the bus.”
The country star called fatherhood “a life-changing deal, a bucket-list deal,” adding, “[Fatherhood] has given me such a sense of purpose — at home and out on the road. A new appreciation for life in general. I think I leveled up overnight, evolved 10 or 20 years overnight.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Hunt’s views on fatherhood:
Country singer Sam Hunt didn’t realize how much growing up he needed to do until his daughter, Lucy Louise, was born.
Hunt shared in an interview with ET Canada about his time touring with his pregnant wife, 14-month-old and how becoming a father has changed things for him.
“Getting thrown into a unique reality at the age of 28 or so, it grew me up in a lot of ways and I think it stunted my growth in a lot of ways,” Hunt said of his rise to fame.
“There were years where maybe I didn’t realize how much growing up I had needed to do. And having a child forces you to do that,” he expressed.
“It shifts something in your nervous system. There’s a skin that I needed to shed and I did when I had my child,” Hunt continued. “…There’s no looking back at that point.”
