THE CHOSEN actor Abe Bueno-Jallad just opened up about all the things fans can expect in Season 5 and 6 of the hit Bible show.
“What we’re encountering in Season 5 is the turning point where something’s got to give,” Bueno-Jallad, who plays Big James, told Movieguide®’s Kaelii Williams. “The political forces, whether it be the Romans or certain religious leaders, are really now fully aware of what’s going on and understanding that this is a movement.”
He added, “Some are trying to unite themselves for it. And so like, I feel like we’re doing such a great job in not only showing that this is the turning point where, this is the last supper [and] Jesus gets arrested…but also to show the nuance of divisions that were also being sowed in in all aspects.”
THE CHOSEN Season 5 is current available on Amazon Prime in the US and will release Internationally July 13. Last week, it became the platform’s No. 1 series.
The cast is currently filming Season 6 of the fan-favorite drama.
“I feel like this will be the best one yet,” Bueno-Jallad said of Season 6. “But I say that every year. But the level of preparation that I’m seeing in the actors, the level of focus, the feeling on set.”
When Williams asked the actor if there is anything special happening for the end of Season 6, Bueno-Jallad gave some hints.

“I’m lucky to be part of a company that really believes in the impossible, and we know that our fans are going to show up for us,” he said. “I don’t think we would do it without the absolute confidence that our fans will be there for us every step of the way, like they always have, you know? So get ready for a whole new way to experience [Seasons] 6 and 7.”
We already know that the last two seasons will debut in theaters.
“Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios will release the Season 6 finale of THE CHOSEN, as a feature film exclusively in theaters on March 12, 2027” and “Season 7 will kick off with a feature film depicting the resurrection of Jesus, exclusively in theaters on March 31, 2028,” Deadline reported.
Bueno-Jallad added, “We’re doing it again. We’re taking risks…we’re not allowing ourselves to get comfortable with what has worked in the past.”
As fans wait with anticipation for the next seasons and upcoming films, they can now catch up on Season 5 on Prime Video.
