THE CHOSEN is Making its Way ‘From the Palace to the Prison’

THE CHOSEN is airing all over the world, with plans to dub and subtitle the show in 600 languages.

“I have a phrase that I’ve been using,” Stan Jantz, CEO of Come & See Foundation, told Movieguide®. “THE CHOSEN appeals from the palace to the prison.”

Jantz continued, “We’ve seen prison fellowship use this so effectively…we also have had people in high positions — in fact, Madagascar is a great story. It’s one of the poorest countries, it’s an island nation off the coast of Africa, and the president is Christian, and he requested that THE CHOSEN, the first season, be translated into Malagasy.”

“We dubbed it, [and] made it possible, so they showed it across that country, in prisons, orphanages, they put it on trucks, they take it into villages, and it’s because the story of Jesus appeals all across every strata of society,” he said.

Jantz said this is “just the beginning,” revealing Come & See’s plans to do THE CHOSEN in 600 languages.

“If you can experience something like this, THE CHOSEN, in your language, it does speak to your heart,” he explained. “Our goal is, by doing it in 600 languages, that 95% of the world will be able to understand it in their language.”

Per Come & See’s website, THE CHOSEN will be dubbed in 100 languages “and another 500 with subtitles.”

“THE CHOSEN is a historically ambitious project to bring an experience with Jesus to the ends of the earth,” the website reads.

Movieguide® previously reported on this goal:

THE CHOSEN recently partnered with a nonprofit organization called Come and See Foundation to translate their TV series about the life of Jesus Christ into 600 languages worldwide.

Come and See plans to dub THE CHOSEN for 100 languages and offer subtitles for 500 more. The show is currently available on the Come and See Foundation app, which will also offer “Bible Roundtables” and other content.

“This new partnership with Come and See supercharges our efforts,” Creator and director Dallas Jenkins said. “We’re able to produce episodes bigger and faster, get them translated into more languages, and market the show on a scale previously impossible.”

“The Chosen is such a dynamic and powerful story,” Stan Jantz, CEO of the Come and See Foundation, said. “With the formation of the Come and See Foundation, our plan is to take The Chosen around the world, reaching much of the World’s population, so they are able to experience Jesus in their native tongue.”

Season 5 of THE CHOSEN is currently in production.

“It’s Holy Week, so Season 4 ends with the triumphal entry. Season 5 picks up where it left off, and Season 6 is going to be the crucifixion, so we essentially cover five days. We cover the most famous week in history,” creator Dallas Jenkins said of what fans can expect from upcoming episodes.
